This Friday we will celebrate another International Women’s Day. Because of my work as a financial advisor for executive women and their families, I am hyper focused on the wealth building and economic side of celebrating women. In honor of Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day this Friday, let’s look at some of the biggest moments in financial history.

1900- Married women were able to own property

1920- 19th Amendment gave women the legal right to vote

1938- Minimum wage bill was passed

1963- Equal pay act stated that men and women should be paid the same amount for the same job in the same place

1974- Women were able to have their own bank account & have their own credit card (without a co-signer)

And here are some of the moments that I am determined to see during my lifetime

1. Women earning equal pay to men ($.82 on the dollar is good progress but not enough)

2. More women earning seven or even eight figures

3.More women earning seven or even eight figures

4.See financial education for women, people of color, LGBTQ+, and other minority groups not only become a priority but non-negotiable every household
