Meet Caroline Tanis, CDFA®
I’m a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst and fee-based financial advisor specializing in comprehensive wealth management for executive women and their families. Think of me as your personal CFO — someone who brings the expertise, strategy, and accountability that high-achieving women deserve.
My career began at Merrill Lynch, where I spent nearly five years building a thriving wealth management practice. In 2020, I made the leap to launch Tanis Financial Group — proudly part of the Women’s Wealth Boutique, an independent advisory firm — so I could serve clients on my own terms, with full transparency and zero hidden agendas.
I hold a B.S. in Financial Planning & Wealth Management from the University of Delaware, an MBA with a Finance concentration from St. Joseph’s University, and my Series 7, 66, and Life & Health Insurance licenses. My CDFA® designation ensures I’m uniquely equipped to guide clients through life’s biggest financial transitions — from divorce to retirement to generational wealth building.
My mission is simple: to break the cycle of financial disempowerment for women, one plan at a time.

Beyond the Office
When I’m not building financial plans, I’m building community. I serve on the University of Delaware Alumni Board and lead the Northern New Jersey Pod of Believe Inspire Grow — a network dedicated to empowering women in business and life.
Outside of work, you’ll find me traveling to a new destination (always planning the next one), hosting dinner parties for friends and family, or chasing down a perfect beach day. Life is meant to be lived fully — and that’s exactly the philosophy I bring to every financial plan I build.

Tanis Financial Group has partnered with Financial Independence Group to utilize their team of insurance specialists; through this partnership, we are able to provide long term care if insurance, disability insurance, or annuities as part of a clients financial plan when appropriate.
Officially I’m Caroline Tanis CDFA MBA. But since we’re friends now please call me Caroline. I started my career in Wealth Management at Merrill Lynch where I spent almost five years building my practice. In order to best service my present and future clients I took the leap and created Tanis Financial Group (TFG as you will commonly see me refer to it as). TFG is proudly part of the Women’s Wealth Boutique, an independent advisory firm.
I became obsessed with financial planning and financial empowerment after realizing how little we as women are taught about this topic. I am now on a mission to break this cycle. I began with education and learning as much as possible (and continue to do so everyday). At the University of Delaware I received my B.S. in Financial Planning and Wealth Management. After that I began at Merrill Lynch where I completed my Series 7, 66, and Life and Health Insurance licenses. To continue my education I earned my MBA at St. Joseph’s University with a concentration in Finance while also completing my Certified Divorce Financial Analyst® designation. All of this so I can best serve and educate other women.

In my spare time I aim to be active in my community. I serve as a member of The University of Delaware Alumni board and am a leader of Believe Inspire Grows Northern New Jersey Pod. For fun, I am an avid traveler, beach goer, and love to host parties for family and friends. I am always on the hunt for my next travel destination or recipe.
