This week kicked off the second quarter of 2023 meaning that this year is more than 25% over. Crazy how time flies when we aren’t in pandemic lockdowns.

To kick off each quarter I love to journal and reflect about what went well last quarter and what I need to improve on. When doing this exercise, I break it down by reflecting on my wealth management practice and on my personal life.

A few weeks ago, I was meeting with a prospective client who was frustrated and stuck when it came to building wealth. I asked her as I do with everyone, “how often do you actually take the time to look at your finances?”. After a long pause she said, “not too often…well never”.

I shared with her the same journaling prompt and review process that I do for myself. Today, I want to encourage you to do the same. Why? Because what we pay attention to expands. If you aren’t paying attention to your spending habits, investments, or financial contributions how do you know if they are helping you achieve your goals?

With it being the start of Q2, now is a great time to look at things. Maybe you never look at your financial goals or maybe you haven’t since the start of the year. Regardless, I encourage you to reflect on

What is going well on my wealth-building journey?

What areas of my wealth-building journey need improvement?

Taking a look at your finances for the first time in a long time may be overwhelming. But know that you just need to take things one step at a time. If you have any questions or are looking to build a goal-based financial plan, use this link to contact us.
